Senate hearings on global warming

Senator Barbara Boxer is planning is planning to conduct "a very long process of extensive hearings" on global warming. Not a bad idea, particularly if it leads to some of our elected leaders becoming more educated on the various facets of this issue. However, one potential critic may have had a point when he said that efforts to curb global warming may not be fruitful unless all the big players are involved. The people's republic of china apparently opens a new coal-fired power plant each week. And, as everyone should be aware, the PRC does not have the best record of adhering to pollution standards or world opinion for that matter.
