How do I report someone if they are spending their disability benefits unwisely (they need a payee)?

You can call Social Security at their toll free number 1-800-772-1213 to report this, however it will most likely not do much good. Social Security cannot stop an individual from spending their disability benefits unwisely.

A doctor would have to provide a statement that the individual you are concerned about is not competent to manage their benefits due to their disabling condition. Unfortunately, it appears that the individual in question was approved to receive disability benefits without the need of a representative payee.
